Everything You Need To Know About Eyebrow TransplantsEyebrows are a distinctive facial feature and allow us to show expression and emotion. If you are considering brow correction options, there are several to choose from, such as microblading, cosmetic tattooing or hair transplant. Whether you have an eyebrow scar, over-plucked your brows, or if you have alopecia, eyebrow transplant is the only permanent eyebrow restoration solution that gives 100% natural results.

In this article you can find out everything you need to know about eyebrow transplants.

What is a brow transplant?

Gro eyebrow transplants are the most refined and delicate hair transplant technique where your own hair follicles are taken from the scalp (usually the soft hairs at the nape of the neck) and transplanted to the brows to restore or enhance the appearance of the eyebrows. Results are permanent, meaning that you can enjoy your new brows for life.

Eyebrow transplant vs cosmetic tattooing

Permanent eyebrow restoration at Gro is designed to suit and compliment your face shape. Our doctors use the most refined technique and very fine, specialised tools so there is no scarring. The doctor precisely controls the depth, angle and direction of every hair to blend seamlessly so the result is completely natural.

When we think about permanent eyebrows, many of us think cosmetic tattoos….which inevitably turn a weird, unnatural hue over time (cringe!) and need correcting. Cosmetic tattooing is great for adjusting shape and giving definition but it will never look like the natural hair of a brow.

Who can have eyebrow transplants?

Anyone in good health who has suffered partial or total eyebrow loss due to illness, accident or injury can consider this procedure. It can be used to perfect existing brows, to fill in gaps due to scarring, to thicken and add density to over-plucked brows or to completely craft new eyebrows for those with no brows at all. PRP therapy can also be used to give the treatment area growth factors to assist and promote hair growth.

The Procedure & Recovery

Depending on the number of follicles to be transplanted, this procedure typically takes 2-4 hours. You do not need to shave your eyebrows prior to your procedure. At the beginning, you will be given a local anaesthetic. After that, the treatment area will be numb for the entire procedure.

There is minimal recovery involved. After your procedure, you can go home to rest. You will need to follow your doctor’s care instructions which will include being careful with the treatment area, don’t sleep face-down, wash gently. You may experience some redness, itching and swelling. Most people return to work several days after their procedure.

Initially the hair will need to be trimmed as it grows longer, it will then mimic the growth patterns of normal eyebrow hairs.

How much do eyebrow transplants cost?

The cost of the procedure is an important factor to consider, along with the safety, technique, experience and expertise of the clinic you choose. The cost is dependent largely on the number of grafts you will need to achieve the look you are after, therefore you will need to book a consultation with one of our hair growth specialists for a personalised quote.
